Salesforce Edge Network is a global network technology designed to enhance access speed, performance, and security for Salesforce organizations. It routes user requests through the nearest Salesforce Edge location, ensuring a consistent experience worldwide while keeping all processing within Salesforce’s trusted infrastructure, compliant with data protection laws.
Key Benefits
- Improved Performance: Reduces download times by serving static assets (e.g., logos, JavaScript) from geographically closer nodes.

Enabling Salesforce Edge Network
- From Setup, search for My Domain.
- In Routing, click Edit.
- Check Use Salesforce Edge Network to enable immediately, or select Enable during scheduled rollout for Salesforce to handle activation.
- Save changes.
- If using a custom domain with a third-party CDN, update the Target Hostname and Target Hostname for Salesforce Edge Network fields to ensure compatibility.
Deferring Activation You may defer if:
- Firewall rules need updating for new IP ranges.
- Custom domains require CDN/proxy reconfiguration.
- You prefer a custom rollout schedule.
- API clients depend on specific SSL/TLS configurations.
To defer:
- In My Domain, uncheck Enable Salesforce Edge Network during scheduled rollout, select applicable reasons, and save.
Important Notes
- Rollback Window: You can disable within 7 days after enabling; beyond that, contact Salesforce Support.
- Data Residency: Customer data is not cached; only static assets marked as cacheable are temporarily stored at edge locations.
- Hyperforce Orgs: Strongly recommended to enable early for optimal performance and security.

Setup → My Domain → Routing → Edit → Check “Use Salesforce Edge Network” → Save
